The Practice, Play, Repeat Experience

Spend a week with me in the village of Cabuya, Costa Rica, where we will spend our days exploring the jungles and wandering the beaches, taking time to simplify. Through practice and play we will learn to reconnect to ourselves and nature, as way of life.

Pura Vida!

The Teacher

I began practising yoga in 2006 and immediately fell in love with the feeling of calm, peace, and just being at home within myself that it brought. As a mother of 4, it has become a way to drop in and reconnect with myself. Observing the changes, both mentally and physically, on and off the mat, I knew I was ready to go deeper with my practice. I completed my YTT200 in 2008 at 5 Elements Yoga and Pilates in Brampton with Michelle Cormack. I discovered Yin Yoga in 2009 and was right away intrigued by it's lineage and healing elements that were drawn from the practice of Chinese medicine. The quieter, slower pace brought a great balance to my yang practice, and life. Over the years, I have continued learning through various teachers, mostly following the Ashtanga and Yin lineages. Every teacher has brought a new element to my practice, and I am grateful for each of them. In 2015 I complete my SUP Yoga teacher training with Stand Up Paddle Vancouver. This practice taught me the importance of being present and truly in my body. With the added element of fun. Since 2016, I have had the privilege and honour to teach along side my first teacher, Michelle Cormack, sharing her 200 YTT curriculum, taking people to the next level of their practice. Yoga is a constant journey of self discovery and growth. As I continue to learn and grow within my own practice, it is my intention to share and help others with theirs.

The Venue

The Cabuya Lodge is owned by fellow Canadian and yogini Mandy Lawson. She has spent the last 9 years following her dream to create a space and community where people can come together within nature to share wellness and yoga with all.

Our sleeping quarters will be shared cabins(unless you opt for single occupancy), each with their own bathroom and heated outdoor showers.
